They were kind enough to invite me down to their place in Cincinnati for engagement photos. I’m kind of obsessed with the locations they picked. Can we just move Ault Park to Pittsburgh? Because that would be nice. Sunrise there was absolutely unreal.

Guys, guess what - my little sister is engaged! That’s pretty awesome.

We also did a mini sunset session, because you all know night shots are kind of my jam.

Since these two amazing people are from out of town, we had to sneak in their engagement session at sunrise on a holiday weekend. Give them major props for being willing to not only get up at the crack of dawn, but get up and get ready for the camera!

They nailed their shoot at Sewickley Heights Park. It is a beautiful little piece of nature tucked away in Sewickley, right down the road from my town of Bellevue. Since we were there right when the park opened, we had the place to ourselves.
Can’t wait for them to get married next year!

Donevon & Marlene met me early in the morning by the famous 'Fabulous Las Vegas' sign. When I pulled in to the lot, the sun hadn't even come over the horizon yet. They gave me the best recommendations for what to do in our limited time in Vegas. The Park on Fremont was the best restaurant we went to (thanks guys!).

They had a wonderful shoot. We walked all around the Strip, and stopped by some great places. I can't believe how much some of the spots reminded me of Europe. Starting the session right at sunrise meant that most people were still sleeping, and we had the streets to ourselves.

Sarah wanted urban, but a focus on the historic buildings of the city instead of the traditional skyline. She decided on a combination of Pitt's campus and Phipps to bring in a more natural element. We started bright and early, right before sunrise.

We started bright and early, right before sunrise. Fog covered the roads and made for a unique backdrop to the start of her shoot. By the end, the fog had lifted, and we captured the vibrant colors of Phipps.

Taylor and Christian decided on Oakland for their engagement shoot. We traveled all over, from inside the Cathedral of Learning, to Phipps, to the columns, to Panther Hollow. We hiked trails, enjoyed the sunshine, and had a ton of fun.

They couldn't stop smiling at each other (and laughing at me for standing in the lake).

Kaitlin & Nick chose Round Hill Park as the spot for their engagement session. I'd never been out that way before, and I loved exploring with them. We started shooting just as the sun came up, and captured a beautiful sunrise. Honestly, it was one of the most beautiful sunrise sessions I've had the privilege to capture in a while! It has been a little dreary here in the Burgh lately.

I met Shelby through one of my brides this year, Christina. So I had the pleasure of photographing her as part of the bridal party this summer! I like to think it made the engagement session a little more comfortable, since we already had worked together before!
No matter what the reason, Shelby & Anthony both came ready to have fun (even though it was 5 minutes after sunrise when we started!). They enthusiastically agreed to all my crazy ideas, including climbing onto a tree over the lake, and jumping down next to a creek (that I had almost fallen into moments before). It was all worth it for these amazing images. You just can't beat a foggy fall morning!
