Rainy Pittsburgh Engagement Session | Sam and Curt
These two flew in from out of state for this engagement session, so there was no rescheduling even with the threat of thunderstorms. By the end of the shoot, there actually ended up being a tornado warning! We dealt with some crazy downpours, but had enough breaks to get some great images. To start things off, we switched locations to the Columns in Oakland to have a spot with some cover. It ended up being a great option with Sam’s gorgeous dress! Sometimes it is fun to dance in the rain.

Nikki & Phil | A Pittsburgh Engagement Session

This time we decided to chance it, and met in Market Square downtown. Of course it poured on us, but we made the most of it, and captured some amazing shots. By the time we headed to Mt. Washington, the sun had come out.

It was a very Pittsburgh engagement. We went to Market Square, Strawberry Way, on the Incline, and up on Mt. Washington. I can't wait for their wedding, which will be at Heinz Field!

They're almost allllways my favorite shots of the day (and hopefully theirs too!). Recently I've been also taking some engagement & senior photos after dark too, so everyone can get in on the fun.

Hey guys! So if you know me, you know how much I adore stealing my couples away from their reception for a few pictures after dark. They're almost allllways my favorite shots of the day (and hopefully theirs too!). Recently I've been also taking some engagement & senior photos after dark too, so everyone can get in on the fun.
This year had some pretty amazing shots, because I had some pretty amazing couples. We've had rain, fireworks, sparklers, city lights, smoke bombs, creeks, and beautiful skies. What more could you ask for?

Nikki & Ryan | The Mayernik Center | Pittsburgh Wedding
Nikki & Ryan got married at The Mayernik Center just north west of Pittsburgh. Their wedding was a party and an adventure! For portraits, we ventured into the creek for a few shots, and later in the evening we got poured on when a big storm came through the area! Quite a memorable day.

Allie & Steve | A North Park Engagement Session | Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer
Allie and Steve were hoping for a gorgeous sunset for their engagement session, but the weather decided not to cooperate. We ended up moving their shoot a half hour earlier so that we could at least get a few pictures without it pouring. Thankfully, the poor weather meant that North Park was a little more empty than usual, and by the time it started raining, we had the park mostly to ourselves.
They were both a little unsure about being in front of the camera, so I asked about how he proposed. It turns out, that they are fans of the movie Love Actually, and Steve proposed using big note cards just like the character, Mark, did, to show his love quietly and sweetly to a girl he could never have. Luckily, Allie said yes, changing the story for the better! Even more wonderfully, her parents knew and were involved.
Here are some of my favorites from their shoot, and I can't wait to shoot their wedding in September!

Ashley & Rocko | Embassy Suites by Hilton | Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer
Ashley and Rocko tied the knot on a rainy day in September. The weather may have been cold and rainy, but everyone was in good spirits as they married at the Church of the Nazarene. They wanted to keep things traditional by not seeing each other before the wedding, but we set aside some time for them to meet with a door between them - so that they got a beautiful, quiet moment before the ceremony with just the two of them.
Family formals took place in the church, and since it was raining, we did their wedding party pictures in their reception venue at the Embassy Suites by the Pittsburgh airport. The rest of the night everyone partied away!
